This Privacy Policy applies to all information collected through our application, Persofin, as well as any related services, sales, marketing, or events.

1. Information We Collect

Personal Information You Disclose to Us

We collect personal information that you voluntarily provide to us when you register on the App, express an interest in obtaining information about us or our products and services, when you participate in activities on the App, or otherwise when you contact us.

The personal information that we collect depends on the context of your interactions with us and the App, the choices you make, and the products and features you use. The personal information we collect may include the following:

Names
Phone numbers
Email addresses
Passwords
Financial information (related to income, expenses, borrowing, lending, and other personal finance transactions)
API Keys (optional Gemini or OpenAI API Keys, if you choose to configure them for unlimited AI usage)

Information Automatically Collected

We automatically collect certain information when you visit, use, or navigate the App. This information does not reveal your specific identity (like your name or contact information) but may include device and usage information, such as your IP address, browser and device characteristics, operating system, language preferences, referring URLs, device name, country, location, information about how and when you use our App, and other technical information. We also collect advertising identifiers (e.g., Google AAID or Apple IDFA) if you choose to watch video advertisements in the app. This information is primarily needed to maintain the security and operation of our App, to serve ads when requested, and for our internal analytics and reporting purposes.

2. Premium Subscription, AI Features & Rules

Persofin offers a Premium subscription version that includes advanced features such as an ad-free experience, secure cloud sync/backup, and advanced AI assistant tools (including voice-activated transaction logging and automated expense categorization).

To ensure fair usage and maintain the quality of our services, the following rules apply to our AI services:

Daily AI Message Limits: Premium subscription plans include a trial allowance of 5 free AI messages per day. This usage count resets automatically at the start of each day.
Server-Side Usage Tracking: To prevent fraud and abuse, your daily message count is tracked and validated dynamically directly on our secure cloud database server. This count is linked to your authenticated user account and does not reset upon logging out, logging back in, or reinstalling the app. No transaction or usage counts are saved locally on your device for verification.
Custom API Key Bypass: If you exceed the daily limit of 5 free trial AI messages, you can enter your own personal Gemini or OpenAI API Key in the Settings panel. If a custom API key is configured, all limits are completely bypassed, enabling unrestricted, unlimited free usage. Your custom API key is stored securely on your device and is only used to connect directly with the respective AI provider.
Video Ads Fallback: If you do not have or wish to set up a custom API key, you can watch a short rewarded video advertisement to temporarily unlock AI Assistant or AI Insights access for the remainder of your session. This ad-unlock option is available to both free users and premium users who have exhausted their daily trial messages.
Real-time Cloud Sync & Transaction Deletion: Your financial data is securely synced to our cloud database. When you delete a transaction, this action is fully synchronized with our cloud server to ensure that the deleted record is permanently removed and will not reappear on your next sync or when logging in from other devices.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use personal information collected via our App for a variety of business purposes described below. We process your personal information for these purposes in reliance on our legitimate business interests, in order to enter into or perform a contract with you, with your consent, and/or for compliance with our legal obligations. We indicate the specific processing grounds we rely on next to each purpose listed below.

We use the information we collect or receive:

To facilitate account creation and logon process.
To manage user accounts.
To process and manage your income, expenses, borrowing, and lending records.
To send administrative information to you.
To protect our Services.
To request feedback.
To serve and personalize video advertisements (via Google AdMob or other third-party networks) when you choose to watch video advertisements to unlock trial AI access.

4. Will Your Information Be Shared With Anyone?

We only share information with your consent, to comply with laws, to provide you with services, to protect your rights, or to fulfill business obligations.

We may process or share your data that we hold based on the following legal basis:

Consent: We may process your data if you have given us specific consent to use your personal information in a specific purpose.
Legitimate Interests: We may process your data when it is reasonably necessary to achieve our legitimate business interests.
Performance of a Contract: Where we have entered into a contract with you, we may process your personal information to fulfill the terms of our contract.
Legal Obligations: We may disclose your information where we are legally required to do so in order to comply with applicable law, governmental requests, a judicial proceeding, court order, or legal process.
Third-Party Advertisers: When you choose to watch video advertisements to unlock AI access, our advertising partners (such as Google AdMob) may collect device information, location, and ad identifiers to serve relevant ads. Please consult their respective privacy policies for details.

5. How Long Do We Keep Your Information?

We will only keep your personal information for as long as it is necessary for the purposes set out in this privacy notice, unless a longer retention period is required or permitted by law (such as tax, accounting or other legal requirements).

6. How Do We Keep Your Information Safe?

We have implemented appropriate technical and organizational security measures designed to protect the security of any personal information we process. Custom API keys, if provided, are stored securely on your device. We check premium status dynamically from our secure backend databases to prevent local manipulation or tampering. However, despite our safeguards and efforts to secure your information, no electronic transmission over the Internet or information storage technology can be guaranteed to be 100% secure, so we cannot promise or guarantee that hackers, cybercriminals, or other unauthorized third parties will not be able to defeat our security, and improperly collect, access, steal, or modify your information.

7. What Are Your Privacy Rights?

In some regions, you have certain rights under applicable data protection laws. These may include the right (i) to request access and obtain a copy of your personal information, (ii) to request rectification or erasure; (iii) to restrict the processing of your personal information; and (iv) if applicable, to data portability. In certain circumstances, you may also have the right to object to the processing of your personal information.
